Two Urban Licks is an expansive Highlands hot spot that feels a bit more NYC than ATL. The place spreads out in a massive, renovated warehouse and fills nightly with a young crowd of city dwellers who’ve come to drink, mingle and, oh yes, eat. The dining room is built around a huge open-fire rotisserie, and warm red lanterns hang intermittently throughout. The bar is bounded on one side by the enormous wine wall, where 42 huge stainless steel barrels hold the restaurant’s wine. Chef Scott Serpas specializes in clever small plates; try the salmon chips or the lamb lollipops. Among the entrees, the barbecued shrimp and prime rib win raves. Critics say the vibe overshadows the food here, and some dishes are inconsistent from night to night. But if you’re coming to have fun, and you don’t mind the noise (it’s awfully loud, especially on weekends), you’ll have a good night.
