Old Iron Works Days

This past weekend was my third time playing music at Old Iron Works Days at Maramec Spring Park in St. JamesMO . This festival is a great way to spend a weekend enjoying a beautiful park while listening to music, eating good food and shopping for crafts. I started playing a banjo a couple of years ago with my family in a band we call the Back Porch Players. We play civil war era music from the 1800's and wear period customs to complete the look.  Here is a picture of us at last years festival. And another one of my wife and I. Earlier this year we recorded a CD and had that available for sale to help pay for gas and such. I had delusions of grandeur that we'd sell out but were only able to sell 19 CD's. Enough to more than make the trip worth it (financially speaking), though we don't do it for the money anyway.
