Super-sized Superman
I took my family and in-laws here to watch Superman Returns in the newly added IMAX theater. Though the screen wasn’t as big as I was expecting it was certainly larger than a normal theater screen. The IMAX version of Superman Returns contained scenes shot in 3-D so special glasses were handed out to all the movie goers. These glasses were needed immediately since all the previews were in 3-D. This is the first time that the crowd actually boo’d when the “commercials” were over because they were so fun to watch in 3-D. In addition to this, IMAX film is larger and provides a higher quality picture to what you get in a normal theater.
This particular theater chain has a rewards program for returning customers so we were given a free popcorn which was so big that no less than 8 people were able to eat from it with plenty left over.
Since this was a popular movie shown in the IMAX format we knew it was going to be crowded but were prepared because the theater manager gave us the OK to bring our dinner with us so we could eat while we waited in line.
The night was so fun that this was the most enjoyable part of a 4 day trip over 4th of July which included a day at Six Flags, a fancy motel in downtown St. Louis and Fireworks at the Arch.
