St. Louis Union Station
Quick visit for lunch and shopping
On a short vacation to St. Louis we found ourselves available for a quick trip over to union station on the St Louis Metro-Link. From downtown, where we were staying, you can take the train to a number of stops to include Union Station for free between the hours of 11:30 and 1:30.
During the small amount of time that we had we were able to eat lunch and shop at a few stores. We even had time to visit the whispering wall which is a unique phenomenon caused by the design of an arch at one of the entrances. If you stand at one side of the arch and speak quietly toward the wall your voice will carry over the arch to the person standing on the other side. Many proposals were said to have taken place here.
Though the famous show at the fudge factory was under way when we got there we didn’t have time to stop and watch. If you come to Union Station you really need to stop and watch this show. Oh and don’t forget to have some fudge too!
