With my $15 subway pass I could travel anywhere I wanted to in the city.  My first adventure was to see Harvard University.  It was easy to figure out how to go from the Green line to the station that intersected with the Red line.  Then you just had to make sure you took the Red line in the right direction.  The subway has very easy to understand maps to aid with this.
