Set on the famously soft sands of Waikiki, the Outrigger Reef on the Beach is a high-rise next to the high surf. With plenty of Hawaiian-themed activities including a hula exercise class, the Outrigger keeps parents, kids and honeymooners busy. The spacious, two-story lobby is being renovated through summer of 2007. Visit the Diamond Head Gallery on the lobby level, or schedule sessions with the Outrigger’s scuba clinic; if you’d rather surf, step right onto the beach and into the Hans Hedemann Surf School. If the waves get rough, head for the hotel’s Serenity Spa, offering Lomi Lomi and hot lava rock massages. Guest rooms feature cheerful white armoires and furnishings, punched up by blue and white quilted bedspreads. Be sure to book a room with a view of Diamond Head or the ocean.

"I searched several hotels looking for the best deal for my money. This one was perfect! It’s on the beach too, so just a short walk into the water and you’re body surfing! The Hotel itself was beautiful! They have an excellent buffet restaurant where I ate many breakfast and dinners. For a formal evening, they have a nice restaurant just across the entry way. Both are located facing the beach so the view is Awesome! The buffet one is open, so it’s like having some fresh fruit for breakfast while getting the fresh morning breeze and smells. I can’t wait to go back! They also have shops within the lobby, which I used to get everything I needed.. And things I didn’t need! If you want to relax in a bar setting with a fun cocktail and music, they have a charming outdoor one waiting! Just go, you’ll love it."
