"a great place to shop and eat, and maybe find a few things to do. lots of local da kine artwork, and good food. Stay a little further south for better beach life though.

Come for the shopping, stay for the Island life....
"This is my favorite place to stay in while I am in Maui. It’s got the best shopping malls, and many little things to do within the town, including plenty of night life. Cannery Row, Lahaina’s premiere shopping center is the place to be. Not only do they have shops, They have nightly entertainment such as fashion shows, etc. to keep you entertained while you are there. When vitisiting Maui, my recommendation is to stay in Lahaina. You will not be let down.

Old Whaler's Town
"I love this old whaler’s town in Maui. Gorgeous ocen-view driving to get there. Once you’re there, there is no shortage of things to do. Lots of unique shops, galleries and restaurants. Home of the Old Lahaina Luau (my favorite luau so far) and the Banyan Tree Park. Any trip to Maui should include a trip to Lahaina.
