Caldwell, ID Summary
Caldwell photo

The gateway to Idaho’s vast southwestern plains, the agricultural and high-tech town of Caldwell, with a population of 21,849, is fast becoming an alternative city to Boise because of its lower cost of living. Nearby Mountain Home is the base for the US Air Force, and test exercises are regularly performed over the Owyhee Desert. Caldwell is also the site of the state’s oldest college, Albertson. Visitors can see this area in a number of ways, including guest ranches, and tours of the farms, vineyards, and orchards.

Caldwell is serviced by buses. Nearby Boise is serviced by buses and trains, as well as the Boise Municipal Airport.
