Important Hotel Information:
Built in 1927, the Millennium Knickerbocker partners a chic European style with the kind of gracious service characteristic of the American heartland. Its rich history and star-studded guest list give it an allure hard to find elsewhere. The hotel hosted the Playboy Club in the ‘70s, and legend has it that Al Capone may have made use of the hotel’s secret doors and ballrooms. Its Magnificent Mile location (across the street from Bloomingdale’s) makes it perfect for jet-setters and shopaholics. The two-story hotel lobby is tailor-made for grand entrances; both the upstairs and downstairs galleries offer plush seating and a great vantage point for people-watching. Guest rooms are elegantly appointed with red and gold throw pillows, curved-back chairs, and crimson floral arrangements. Gilt-edged mirrors and cream linens provide a luxurious contrast to the vivacious red accents. For more of the Knickerbocker’s distinctive flair, stop into the bistro-like Nix restaurant. Serving American cuisine with subtle Asian accents, Nix is an elegant place for a pre-theater supper. After the show, come back and have a nightcap at Martini Bar, which boasts 50 different types of martinis from which to choose.
