Location. The Ruby Room is located in the historic Wicker Park district of Chicago, Ill., surrounded by restaurants, shops, galleries and nightlife. This unique overnight spa property is three miles from downtown Chicago.

Features. Built in 1896, this historic building was renovated in 2007 into an urban sanctuary by combining fashion, beauty, wellness therapy and art. Modern design blends with antiques throughout the property. A community kitchen is available for guests’ use. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available at the property. A healing garden showcases a waterfall and labyrinth. A healing sanctuary, rejuvenation spa, hair salon, beauty bar, yoga lounge and three boutiques are on site. This four-story building does not offer elevators.

Guestrooms. Accommodations at the Ruby Room offer private bathrooms with marble and glass showers. Commercial steam showers are provided in four of the rooms. All accommodations feature hardwood floors, Oriental rugs, and custom moldings and woodwork. Beds boast down comforters, 500-thread count sheets and pillowtop mattresses. Spa towels, robes and designer toiletries are provided. The rooms are designed for tranquility and peace, so they are not equipped with televisions or telephones.
