Summary of The Map Room
The Map Room
1949 N Hoyne Ave
Chicago, IL 60647
773-252-7636
The Map Room has character, a lively crowd and fantastic drinks, just like a neighborhood tavern should. Inspired by their travels, the owners filled the place with atlases, old copies of National Geographic and paintings of the continents. Noisy, smoky and dimly lit, The Map Room is a favorite hang-out of local artists and young, trendy residents from the surrounding Bucktown neighborhood. The dizzying selection of over 200 beers changes regularly, but choices from far-flung countries, including Austria, Belgium and Jamaica, as well as domestic microbrews feature constantly on the menu. Beer aficionados and novices alike will find an ale, stout or pilsner to quench their thirst. Although there is no kitchen, buffets are regular events; every Tuesday night a different country’s food is offered for International Night, and a barbecue spices up the weekends. This worldly atmosphere makes The Map Room a genuinely unique destination.
