House of Blues, famous at its many locations around the globe, loses none of the glamour and glitz of its “faux dive” specialty here! Outsider art hangs all over the place from floor to ceiling, and you get the feel of being in a perverted opera house. With seating more than 1,500 people, HOB lets visitors catch a concert while snacking on such menu selections as “The Elwood” (blackened chicken sandwich with chili garlic mayonnaise, green chilies and sour cream served with seasoned french fries). Average menu prices are about $9, topping out at $21 for a New York strip steak. There is live music seven nights a week, with cover charges ranging from $10 to $25. Music styles are not limited to the blues— jazz, rock and such favorite bands as Duran Duran and Styx are also featured. You must make a reservation ahead of time.

Awesome Concert Venue!

bar403's rating:

"HOB is one of the best venues in the city. Its small, intimate concert area plus big name bookings make you feel like you are practically on stage with the performers! The drinks can be pricey but if you stick with the beer specials, it isn’t that bad."

HOB Chicago

sheluvs40's rating:

"Although I loved the standing room only type of venue (we were able to get very close to the performing acts both times we attended), the drinks are pricey-$8.50 for an 8-10 oz rum & coke, $5.50 for a can of beer, and $5.00 for a bottle of water. Didn’t get to experience the restaurant, but, I have heard that the food is much more reasonably priced. Didn’t care for the non-smoking (although entertainers for the evening could smoke)...if a venue is non-smoking it should be that way all the way around; this location opens the doors a bit earlier than usual as well. However, for live music, House Of Blues rates very high for the experience!!! Although it is standing room only, the sound system @ House Of Blues really delivers. Plus, you are able to get very close to the stage, where you can really feel the live show’s music “thump” in your chest. The only bad part about my experience was the $$$ expensive drink pricing….that is why I have given HOB Chicago a 4 out of 5."
