Summary of Marshall Field's
Marshall Field’s on State Street was a Chicago icon, a much-beloved department store that was a holiday tradition for generations thanks to its magnificent holiday displays and decorations. The State Street store was Marshall Field’s flagship store, its soaring lobby a sight to behold and its clock made famous in a Norman Rockwell painting. Marshall Field’s was purchased by Macy’s, which killed the Marshall Field’s name in a move that disappointed many fans of the grand department store. Certain elements of Marshall Field’s, including its Frango mints, can be found at the Macy’s that now resides here.
