Erie Canal Village

Erie Canal

This is an outdoor history museum in the form of a 19th century village with buildings typical of that time period (blacksmith’s shop (with demonstrations), tavern, school, church, etc) to tour and view. Located on the historic man-made Erie Canal. Learn the history of the canal at the Canal Museum and take a boat ride on the canal (pulled by mules!). Also an old cheese factory-turned museum. Nice gift shop as well. It’s a worthwhile trip. Good for families.
