Bern

My favorite city in Europe (so far)

I hear that Geneva is even better but my friend who said that lived there at the time so she may be biased. Bern is an old city with cobblestone streets, lovely bridges, and old houses. There is a small Einstein museum worth going to (Einstein lived in the apartment that was turned into the museum), a bear pit (!! yes, they keep bears for good luck and you can peer into the pit at them. Apparently these bears are vegetarians), and a casino. Everything is in walking distance. There is also a market with great produce and I highly recommend the restaurants – best hashbrowns and fondue in the world. Don’t forget the swiss chocolates. A lot of high end shops as well. I was happy to find a bodum store, as they do not exist in the US.
