Arches National Park

Arches, arches, arches

The park protects a large concentration of arches, including the one featured on Utah license plates. It’s smaller than a lot of other national parks so you’ll have a chance to see a great deal in a short amount of time. We spent one day at Arches and were able to hike every trail except one primitive trail and the Klondike Bluffs area. Arches aren’t the only thing protected there either. There’s also an old ranch with petroglyphs nearby. The views from some of the trails are fantastic. The color of the rock formations stands out beautifully against the blue sky on clear days. Don’t just drive to the scenic viewpoints. It’s well worth getting out of your car and seeing things up close. The park is just minutes outside of Moab.
