Very nice resort, great location

We just got back from Las Vegas, and stayed at the Desert Paradise, my parents' timeshare. The Desert Paradise is conveniently located just a few miles off of "The Strip". It is located near everything you would need while staying here. There is a Walgreens right on the corner that is 24 hours, and there is a grocery store 5 minutes away. The closest Hotel/Casino is The Orleans, about a 3 minute drive away. You can get a shuttle to the strip from there if you did not rent a car. We rented a car for $150 for the week through Alamo and were so glad that we did. Parking in Las Vegas is free, and all of the Hotels have Valet parking, which is free as well, save for a $2 tip when you pick your car up.
The hotel suites were clean and modern. We started off in a 1 bedroom and moved into a 2 bedroom mid week. The 1 bedroom had a king sized bed and a large walk in closet, as well as a full kitchen and balcony. There were 2 TV's, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. The kitchen was not badly equipped. It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring ziplock baggies and packets of condiments from restaurants to save you from having to buy a small size at the store. They do supply dish soap and dishwashing detergent. They do not supply laundry detergent or dryer sheets for the washer and dryer in suite.

The resort has 2 pools, one being adult only. The adults only area includes a hot tub. The resort also has 2 computers for use 24 hours a day free of charge, and they have free wireless access in the lounge in the main building. Wireless internet is $7.95/day in room.

The staff there are very friendly, and we had no problems with check in. They give you a parking permit to display on your car, and they have gates that lock at 8pm, requiring codes for entry, which they conveniently write down for you on the back of the parking pass! Naturally, because they are a timeshare resort, they get you on check in and invite you to a presentation. We knew we were definitely not buying, so we decided to go ahead and spend the hour first thing the next morning. They were not pushy at all, very nice. They had all the usual continental goodies. After we shut them down, we went and collected our $75 Visa debit card and our 2 night 3 day mini vacation voucher for one of their Sunterra resorts. Not bad for an hour's work! We had no problems using the Visa card. We used most of it on dinner at the Village Buffet at Paris and the remainder on souvenirs for our girls.

All in all, it is a lovely resort and I definitely recommend it.
