Visitors to Prague will no doubt want to take in the beauty afforded by Prague castle if visiting the country this summer.

Sitting at the top of a hill, the castle was initially built in the 9th century and has been expanded into the Royal Palace site, reported Whatsonwhen.

It remains a venue for the head of state, giving it an even grander feel.

Other attractions at the revered selection of buildings include the castle gallery for art lovers and Saint Vitus' Cathedral, the publication stated.

Within this, the little intricacies make for a great spectacle. It has a variety of small chapels and marvellous stained-glass windows.

Prague has a great number of hotel rooms for those looking to take in an architectural delight. It also has a number of other attractions such as the Sacred Music festival that is due to take place in September.
