The 1853 Inn at Woodhaven is located in the east end of Louisville, Ky., ten miles from the Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Brown Park and the Bear Grass Nature Preserve, which offer two miles of hiking trails, 180 species of trees and at least 30 species of butterflies, are one block from the inn.
This Gothic revival home displays a bay window and a white-trimmed porch on the main house, which is accompanied by a carriage house and an octagonal cottage. Complimentary three-course, candlelit breakfasts are served each morning. An “early bird” continental breakfast is also provided. Soft drinks and cookies are available throughout the day. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided in all buildings. The 1853 Inn at Woodhaven features elaborately-carved woodwork and winding staircases throughout the buildings.
