Amazing....

This is the best place to eat in southern Missouri! My sister and her husband live down in southern Missouri so I am a frequent visitor and this is ALWAYS a must-stop. Expect a bit of a wait, I've waited from 30 minutes to 3 hours to eat, but it's well worth it. The food is some amazing down-home-cooking. All the meals are all you can eat with the best homemade rolls you've ever eaten which are thrown at you usually by a member of the Lambert family and also some good sorghum, and the "pass arounds" which include fried potatoes and onions, fried okra, macaroni and tomatoes and another thing that I don't recall at the moment. I've never gotten anything but the chicken and dumplings just because it is so good, but I have tried some of the other items on the menu which were good as well. Be sure to order the fried apples as a side for your meal, you won't be disappointed. And, if you are still somehow hungry after you eat your meal, be sure to ask the waiter for some dessert. They have free cobbler if requested. If memory serves me correctly, Lambert's does not accept credit cards. Expect to pay approx. $10/meal, but believe me, it'll be your best $10 spent down there.
