Harrods
i could spend all day
harrods was a weekly occurance for me when i lived in london. i rarely bought more than tea, food or a pair of shoes on sale, but i loved wandering around and checking out all the deluxe merchandise. the jewelry department is, of course, fabulous. all the designer clothing can be found upstairs (take the escalator – it’s one of the store’s most famous attractions), and they have a great toy department, but harrods is most famous for the food halls. case after case of chocolates, breads, meats, coffee, etc. everything is wonderful, and the place is packed. especially on weekends (duh). this is a tourist mecca…so watch out. go early. go in the middle of the week. go with a lot of patience. and go with extra money so you can buy treats.
