Morial Convention Center and Harrah’s Casino are also one mile away.
Features. This adults-only, Greek Revival style inn was built in 1858 and once served as headquarters for the Red Cross. The inn features eleven white Corinthian columns and a balcony overlooking magnolia trees, gardenias and jasmine. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served each morning on the veranda or in the dining room. The inn’s red-carpeted entry hall features life-sized sculptures of the Greek deities of love, Aphrodite and Eros. The inn’s parlors offer crystal chandeliers and antique furniture. A video library is available. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. The Magnolia Mansion offers nine guestrooms and suites with private bathrooms. Select bathrooms feature jetted tubs, hand-held showers, claw-foot or slipper tubs, and pedestal sinks. All units are equipped with cable television, VCRs and complimentary wireless Internet access. Accommodations feature polished hardwood floors and blackout curtains. Sleigh, canopy, wrought-iron or Marie Antoinette beds are featured in all guestrooms. Accommodations offer sitting areas or desks. Distinct artwork is showcased in the rooms, including elaborate murals that imitate famous French artists or depict local legends and jazz musicians.

Expert Tip. The Magnolia Mansion was featured on the Today Show’s “Travel” section on account of rumors that the mansion is haunted by friendly ghosts.
