Antoine’s Restaurant is a New Orleans institution. The Alciatore-Guste family has owned and operated Antoine’s since 1840. Oyster fans have Antoine’s to thank for Oysters Rockefeller, and although some locals say the French-Creole fare here has slipped a bit in quality, the crowds who pack into this place would seem to dispute that. Antoine’s was heavily damaged in Hurricane Katrina; the restaurant itself is once again open for business, but not all of its 15 dining rooms have reopened.
