Fukuoka

Nice town!

Fukuoka was a nice city. It is (of course!) much smaller than Tokyo, the only other place I’d been in Japan. There was still a lot to do, but not the huge crowds that were in Toyko, which was nice. There were a lot of beautiful temples. It’s so strange to walk down a non-descript street, and then see a really gorgeous, intricate temple where you weren’t expecting one! I guess when there are so many, and you’re used to them, they don’t seem as special as they do to me! There was plenty of shopping places here, nice canals and a beach, parks, temples and shrines galore, and even castle ruins! A nice place to spend a few days!
