Lillehammer Olympic Park

Olympic dreams!

I have always loved the Olympics. This was the only reason I wanted to come to Lillehammer, actually! I can still remember the opening ceremony from 1994 games here- the little colorful trolls (I think they were kids dressed as trolls… but they could have been real trolls for all I know!), the Greig music playing… Ahhh. Anyhow, you can go see the Olympic stadium, there’s a museum about the Olympics and Norwegian athletes, and there’s the ski jump. They were jumping on it even when I went there in July!! Instead of snow, there was what looked to be wet atstroturf! Ouch- imagine if you fell! Well, I guess it wouldn’t be that comfy to fall on snow, either- they go really fast! It was great to see somebody jumping upclose. Everything here was interesting. My Olympic dreams were fulfilled!
