Oslo City Hall (Oslo Radhus)

Nobel Peace Prize venue

The Norwegians describe the City Hall as looking like two blocks of brown goat cheese (which you should definitely taste while you’re in Norway! It’s very special!). The building isn’t very beautiful from the outside, it’s quite blocky. There is a nice clock and statues out front. Inside is the room where the Nobel Peace Prize is given out every year. The rest of the Nobel Prizes are given out in Stockholm, but the peace one is Norwegian. You can go in and look at the room for free, but I think to walk around in it you have to pay. The walls are covered with murals of people working and living. They’re really nice. There’s a little gift shop there, too. I think they have guided tours where you can learn more about the building and the Nobel Prize.
