Me in a nutshell

Umm… I love reading, traveling, sewing, crafts, and jellyfish (looking at them, not eating them).

I’m a medical school drop-out, at the moment, although maybe I’ll go back and finish someday! I don’t know what I want to do with my life, and I’m currently almost employed as an English teacher!

In 2006 I went to 5 new countries (Chile, Japan, Korea, Thailand &... oh, crap- only 4!), so I need to get cracking if I’m going to beat that in 2007! My goal would be to visit every country in the world! I like trying new things (uh, except food. I’m really picky and resistant to new foods!) and going new places!

Things I like

Whoops… I wrote about that under “Me in a nutshell.” Well, I also like pizza, the smell of grass, music, camels, the internet, and photography. I’m also really interested in the environment and sustainability. Which is sometimes hard to put into practice when you like to travel!

Revealing Tidbits

You're stuck in the middle seat on a plane between two celebrities. Who are they?
Amy Sedaris and Michelle Bachelet. Amy Sedaris, because she's freaking hilarious. It was a tossup between her and her brother Dave. Michelle Bachelet is the president of Chile, and a former doctor and a socialist! I was in Chile for her inauguration. I don't know much about her presidency since then, but it would be fascinating to talk to her and find out what's it like being president. & when she gets boring, back to Amy!
Your cruise ship sank and you're stranded on a deserted island. What three things do you need?
1. A very long, complicated book that will take me a long time to read, and that I can read more than once. 2. A coconut radio (or plans to build one. That would give me something to do!). 3. Sunblock! I burn easily!
Gusto is picking you up in a private jet. Where are you going?
As far away as possible! I want to get my money's worth!

hmm, I have so many question, but let me start with a few. Was it hard to just all of a sudden live in Sweden? As far as money, Residency, etc etc? Is the language hard to learn? I know most people aren't as interested in language as they are in culture and architecture, but my main focus in on language. I want to go on a pilgrimage to europe and put my self in situations where I have to speak the language in question. I love languages...currently I am working on spanish and german. I should be going to gothenberg, Malmoe, and Stockholm...perhaps even more if time permits. Any kind of advice you could give me in relation to travel, sweden, swedish, the people of different european countries (France, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic) would be greatly appreciatd. I love to make new friends, especially ones who are cultured and have an interest in foreign travel. Thanks!

Have you been to Sweden? if so, what's it like? I'm going there this summer, and I'm trying to gather some helpful information.

Hi! You wanted to know how old my son was…. he is 8 months now. But the pic you were looking at was my sister daughter. Don't feel bad, she gets that often, people thinking she is a boy and they think my son is a girl. ;p

Haha! I actually did think the picture was of a girl, but then I checked in your profile, and it said you had a son! Everybody thought I was a boy when I was little, too- I didn't have any hair until I was almost 2, so I guess that's why!

Omigod….and you're a Heroes fan too?  lol  Thanks for your kind comments regarding my Prague trip report.  I tend to get too wordy, but hopefully, in the end provide clarity regarding my travel experiences.  I want to be you when I grow up!  I'm envious of all of the traveling that you do and on a teacher's salary to boot!  I agree with you about being a picky eater, while I like to experience new things some of the foods that you get exposed to can kill you!

Heroes is great, huh! I don’t like TV that much, but my boyfriend got me sucked in to that one! I love Hiro- he’s the cutest! As for me travelling a lot- I don’t think I travel enough! Haha! But writing reviews on this site has reminded me how many places I actually have been to- but there’s always such a long list of more places I want to go!

I taught English for 12 years – including the 3 years I lived in Korea. And yes, the Sedaris family is some talented, that's for sure!
