Marin Headlands
Beautiful!
This is such a beautiful area! There are some breathtaking views of San Francisco, plus gorgeous scenery here to enjoy. It’s great to go in spring, when everything’s green and the flowers are blooming. It can get quite chilly here- colder than in San Francisco, so bring a jacket. I thought it was great hiking around, going down the beach, and exploring the old military forts (some are in ruins, some are preserved as historical monuments). The place was almost deserted when I went in March, and it was nice having such a lot of nature all to myself! I also read that in the fall you can see thousands of hawks, which sounds neat, too.
