The Costa Verde ( Green Coast ), as the Asturias coastline is known, is one of the popular attractions of northern Spain . A place that's blessed with beautiful landscapes.  It is surrounded by high-mountain ranges of Cordillera Cantabrica , along the ridges of which is a natural border, between the Bay of Biscay to the north, and the region of Castilla y Leon to the south.

Asturias is a breathtaking display that s almost beyond imagination -- mountains with high peaks, immaculate snow that seems endless, clear lakes, chiseled deep ravines, beautiful river valleys and narrow passes, tiny fishing villages and extensive lush forests. The combination of its colors is striking and simply beautiful -- the gray and ochre shades of the walls of the Picos de Europa , the deep blue of the ocean with the white foam of the waves, the shades of green of the forests and valleys mixed with the emerald and crystal blue tints of the rivers and lakes.
