Lobster Tails

Reviewed by greg544 on July 13, 2007

greg544's rating:

"The Lobster Tail from Mike's Pastry was recommended by lots of people standing in the long line. Boy was that a good recommendation. The Lobster tail is baked in a shape that looks something like a lobster tail but is filled with a really lite cream. It almost taste like ice cream but it is more of the consistency of cool whip. The entire place is cool. Great bakery. Good place to stop if you are walking the Freedom Trail"

Cannoli, anyone?

Reviewed by sweetfire009 on February 02, 2007

sweetfire009's rating:

"I visited Mike’s because I had been told by a friend that it was famous and had delicious food. The place was so packed that there was barely enough room to stand, much less sit down. I guess Regardless, I managed to force my way to the front of the crowd. The cannoli I ordered was so good that I went back and bought a few more to take home with me on the airplane."

Sugar shock waves

"On a whim-induced weekend trip to Boston, we stumbled across Mike’s as we were exploring the Italian neighborhood and looking for a place for dinner. We got the clue that this was a popular stop based on the tremendous line snaking down the block and the seemingly endless number of bakery-box-clutching-people we kept passing on the street. We made it a point to stop back the next morning, somehow able to beat the breakfast rush and find a table. Their counters house a staggering array of drool-worthy pastries and the variety of cannolis would send any borderline indecisive person into a tailspin. I recommend choosing a pastry of choice and getting a box of cannoli to go. The coffee is good and cheap. Staff somehow manage to be attentive to each patron’s needs despite the crowds. Pretty good cup of joe, especially for 99 cents."
