Summary of The Druid
Unlike Boston’s renowned Irish bars, the pubs of Cambridge are home-away for newly arrived Irish, probably because they’re as close to the real thing as you’ll find in the U.S. Come to these for a well-poured pint and a lively seissiún, as well as the occasional poet and frequent Irish music. The Druid, in Inman Square, is a dark and moody place, where you can hear good music and eat authentic Irish pub dishes at pub prices. You might stumble into an Irish theater performance. For a pint and live Celtic music almost every night, cross just over the thin line into Somerville and try The Burren, at Davis Square. The crowd here will have more college students than at The Druid, but the atmosphere’s still right out of Dublin’s Grafton Street.
