Despite its name, don’t expect much shopping at the National Mall. Home to many historic monuments, including the Capitol Building and Lincoln Memorial, you can spend a whole afternoon exploring the grounds. It’s a terrific afternoon when the weather is nice – bring comfortable shoes!
