Tulum is best known for its Mayan ruins, a walled city that is one of the best-preserved Mayan sites on the coast. Tulum is a small town that has a hotel zone on the beach – you can stay in small, rustic cabanas or huge, modern resorts – and some smaller hotels in town, along with restaurants and an Internet café.
