Mike's Travel Guide Notes

Salt Flat is a pretty tiny town but the majestic Guadalupe Peak is truly incredible. At 8,749 feet it's reasonably high and the views in all directions are cool from the peak. There climb up is arduos but not that bad if you're in reasonably good shape.

If you're going to camp up top though be prepared for very crazy weather. I had 70 mile per hour winds the night I stayed up there.

The great thing about this park is that it's the least visited National Park in the country. I slept on top of the mountain and was the only person up there on a beautiful Saturday night. I only saw 2 other people doing the climb.

Anyway if you're in West Texas I'd highly recommend you check this place out.
