St. Paul, MN Summary

An extraordinary city chock full of history, culture and magnificent scenery, the unique Minneapolis flavor has something to offer every palate. Whether you decide to visit during the Capra-esque winter or the heavenly summertime, Minneapolis-St. Paul is always in season. You’ll see why Minnesota is called the land of 10,000 lakes; from small, sun-dappled ponds to larger lakes perfect for fishing, water is a permanent fixture in both the landscape and the entertainment possibilities. You can fish, canoe, kayak or swim; anglers will want to visit Lake Minnetonka for the superb bass fishing. These cities offer both contemporary and historical attractions. The great Mall of America, for instance, is a pop-culture necessity-stop for all visitors to the Twin Cities. Featuring more than 500 stores, nearly 100 restaurants and an indoor theme park, the Mall of America is the United States’ largest indoor mall.

For something a bit more architecturally and culturally inspiring, a trip to St. Paul’s celebrated cathedral is ideal. Designed in classic Renaissance style by E.L. Masqueray, construction on the Cathedral of St. Paul began in 1907, and its doors first opened in 1915. A dominant feature of the skyline, the cathedral is truly an extraordinary building. Mass is held daily and visitors are welcome. In addition to these famed attractions, the Twin Cities are also known for their numerous museums including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Walker Arts Center as well as the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum. And be sure to grab a bite at the 112 Eatery, one of the city’s favorite restaurants. A cozy bistro with scrumptious eclectic cuisine and a festive atmosphere, the 112 Eatery is a favorite with both natives and newcomers.
