What a gracious and beautiful hotel! I stayed there post-Katrina, so their Southern hospitality may have come from gratitude that someone was visiting. But the lobby is spectacular, the room was not large but very lavishly furnished, and the service was impeccable. One caveat: I had been to New Orleans pre-Katrina, and was surprised by the lack of foot traffic in the couple of blocks between the hotel and the French Quarter now. As I was travelling alone, I was not comfortable walking those couple of blocks after dark and chose to take a cab.
