Halls, launched by Hallmark founder Joyce Hall in 1913, is Kansas City’s premier department store. The Halls at Country Club Plaza is elegant and graceful, inside and out. The men’s department is exceptional, and if you can’t find the right suit among the racks of Hugo Boss and Armani, you can simply have one made. Burberry, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana fill the racks and shelves. The women’s department offers clothing, shoes and accessories from the likes of Christian Lacroix, Donna Karan, Gucci, Sigrid Olsen and Hermes. You’ll find beauty products from La Prairie and Crème de la Mer in the first-floor cosmetics department, and the nearby handbag department features goods from several top-shelf designers, including Kansas City’s own Kate Spade. You’ll find lots of lovely things for your home here, as well. A tip for power shoppers: The immaculate restrooms here are by far the nicest on the Plaza.
