"Downtown Springfield has been undergoing a face lift for several years now and the fruits of all that labor are adding up. Now you can add Discovery Center to that bunch.
This children’s museum features several interactive displays through several electronic mediums as well as live “Brain Byte” sessions that are presented by the center staff.
There are several cool exhibits that feature human biology, geography (with a special focus on Springield’s sister city in Japan), and ecology just to name a few.
There is also lot of fun stuff to do that allows kids to use their imaginations and just play. There are things like a TV STUDIO (where kids can do the news, weather, and be the producer in the control room), A PUPPET THEATER (where kids can present puppet shows and also dress up in costumes), A MARKET (with a cash register and lots of fake food), and many other areas to explore and learn about.
While Discovery Center is not exactly on par with St. Louis Missouri’s wonderful children’s museum, “The Magic House”, it is 3 hours closer and a lot less crowded.
If you want to give your kids a chance to exercise their minds a bit and have some fun in the process, I would recommend paying the Discovery Center a visit."
