Meh

Reviewed by Jools on July 10, 2008

Jools' rating:

"I don't drink beer, and there's really no other reason to go to this place. The service is bad and ridiculously slow, and the food is mediocre at best."

Good if you like beer

Reviewed by LeciaJoy on December 18, 2006

LeciaJoy's rating:

"The food was typical American bar food, parking was horrible and the service wasn’t great. Since I don’t like beer, I didn’t really care for it too much. Not the worst place ever, but not a favourite of mine either."

Great place for a Sunday night

Reviewed by Jesse on August 28, 2006

Jesse's rating:

"I agree with Josh M… The unfiltered wheat beer is awesome! Food is pretty good, and the service is alright unless is gets too busy."

Wheat beer is the best

Reviewed by Josh M on August 02, 2006

Josh M's rating:

"The food is very good. Love the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. But it’s the beer I love. The Unfiltered Wheat to be exact. With a couple of lemons added, it’s the best beer in town."

BrewCo

Reviewed by Brooke on July 17, 2006

Brooke's rating:

"Come here to meet with friends. Sit outside on the patio or grab a table by the bar. Either way order one of their beers. Great atmosphere and decently enjoyable food. However, the service here is way below par. In fact it can be down right terrible. Every time I go here I have to wave down my server especially when ordering food. For some reason, I continue to go back. It must be the unfiltered wheat beer and the atmosphere."

You'll Do No Better

Reviewed by hotcharlie on June 27, 2006

"Than their Sunday night pitcher + wings special, or their Thursday night two-fers. Primo food (the wings, anyway) and primo beer, all for cheap (on those nights, anyway). Worth seeing any night."

Go for the beer, not the food

Reviewed by Anonymous on June 25, 2006

Anonymous' rating:

"Located on a prime corner of downtown, this brewery serves up some damn good suds, including a rich, complex brown ale. Can’t decide? Go for the sampler, which lets you taste all of the brewmaster’s current offerings. The food, though, is a letdown. Nothing’s wrong with the dishes … but nothing’s right either. Burgers are overcooked, the French dip goes skimpy on the meat, and don’t even try the yellowfin Cobb salad (trust me). But this place is definitely worth a stop for the gorgeous patio and delicious beer."

Beer good. Food bad.

Reviewed by TheRobin on June 21, 2006

TheRobin's rating:

"This place has all the stuff a brewpub should have. wood floors, check. Long bars, check. Tons of TVs with sports playing, check. Game room and pool tables, check. Brewing tanks and equipment in a glass walled room for your viewing pleasure, check. An outside patio, check. Very good beer, check. And finally, very bad food, check. I would go for the fun and beers. And I would go not hungry"

It has its moments

Reviewed by leah on March 31, 2006

leah's rating:

"Springfield Brewing Company can be tons of fun. It’s laid-back, big, has a good atmosphere, several pool tables and the bar food is above-average. However the service can seriously suck sometimes, especially when it’s busy. It’s a lot better if you sit downstairs. However the action happens upstairs, so take your pick. The crowd is a nice mix of college students, downtown business people, attractive twentysomethings and boho-hipsters. There’s also live music, which is usually pretty good. It’s a great place for a relaxed night out with a group of friends (especially on Funday Sunday – if you don’t know what that is, go find out), just be prepared to be frustrated with your server."
