WannaGetta Pizza is Springfield’s healthy alternative to a pizza pie. You won’t compromise the taste with slices made of wheat flour, olive oil and part skim mozzarella. Some of the locals’ favs include the BLT and Tomato Basil. Sip a cold beer and enjoy your slice in the courtyard.

A new favorite!

"My co-worker Greg told me about this place, and I’m so glad he did! The incredibly thin wheat crust here is great; I grew up eating McSalty’s pizza, which also has a good wheat crust, and although I still like that a lot, WannaGetta Pizza is my new favorite. The crust is crispy on the edges and generally unobtrusive. Because it’s so thin, they don’t have to heap a ton of sauce and cheese on top – though they put plenty on there – instead, you get a perfect combination of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. The owners and employees are really nice here, too; I’ve never had a bad experience. In fact, one night when I came in to pick up dinner, the owner carried my pizzas out to the car when my little niece decided she needed to be carried out, too. WannaGetta Pizza is part of my regular rotation now; I just wish I’d discovered it sooner!"

"The best pizza in Springfield. The owners are great too. Be aware though it’s cash only. I’m embarrassed to say how many times I’ve forgotten this and had to sheepishly walk to the ATM on the corner."

Yes. Yes I did.

"My moving to Springfield some two years back happened to coincide with my adoption of a low-carb lifestyle (not a diet, mind you, it’s a way of life). Many were the nights when, tired from work and unwilling to cook, my mate or I would turn to the other and, without thinking, ask, “Wanna getta pizza?” But, of course, we couldn’t. Pizza makes you fat. This exchange was usually followed by a short railing against the injustice of it all, that nobody – not a soul – seemed to have imagination enough to come up with a whole wheat pizza crust. Then I heard about this joint (from Greg, matter of fact), and I ate there. And it’s good. And I moved. I ate one pie, and I moved (had to). It’s been there for three years now, a little out of the way and apparently underpublicized, but you should surely check it out. Heads up."

Unique pizza place

Reviewed by greg on March 23, 2006

greg's rating:

"My first experience with WannaGetta Pizza was when I looked out the window of my office back in February of 2006 and noticed their sign. I decided to eat lunch there that day and ordered the classic peperoni stromboli and a side salad with the house dressing. The rest is history! I’ve since gone back many times trying both the pizza and the sandwiches. I give this place 2 thumbs way up."
