Location. The Samuel Cecil House is located in St. Louis, Mo., in the historic Lafayette Square neighborhood. Several Fortune 500 companies are nearby, including Anheuser Busch, which is less than two miles away. South Grand Avenue, featuring Thai, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, French and Mediterranean restaurants, is less than three miles away.
Features. Built in 1891, this Second Empire-style bed and breakfast features a staircase enclosed by a “wall of windows” consisting of 16 sheets of thermo-pane glass panels standing 30 feet tall. Complimentary full breakfasts are served each morning in the breakfast room. A hospitality suite offers complimentary beverages and snacks 24 hours a day. A common kitchen is available for guests’ use. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided, and fax and business services are available upon request. Books, newspapers and magazines are offered in the hospitality suite. A reading room, parlor and game room with a pool table are on site. The property’s garden features a fountain. Laundry facilities are available. Guest passes to a local fitness center and discounts on select neighborhood restaurants are offered.
Guestrooms. The Samuel Cecil House offers three individually decorated guestrooms. Bathrobes and salon-inspired soaps, shampoos and conditioners are provided. A four-poster bed, views of the garden, cable television and a VCR are included in the Orchard Suite. The Hickory Suite offers a private bathroom. The Oriental Room features an Andy Warhol print.
