"St. Louis is known for its blues heritage, and there’s no better place to catch this music than at the Broadway Oyster Bar downtown. I was in St. Louis last summer, and it felt as if we were in the Sahara Desert. A friend of mine and I went to a daytime Cardinals game downtown, and afterward, wanted to cool off with a frosty cold Budweiser and hear some blues. We walked over to the Broadway Oyster Bar and sat in the back (luckily covered) patio area where a blue-collar blues band breezed through the St. Louis heat. The rhythm section was grooving, and churned along like a freight train. The bar nodded to New Orleans, with a funky Cajun atmosphere. The inside area was tiny, with a small stage. We ate some fantastic oysters and red beans and rice, and were able to cool off as much as possible. Nothing like hearing the blues and sipping a Bud when in the Lou."
