"Rigazzis is on the “hill” in St. Louis and is the oldest restaurant in this Italian area of the city. Rigazzis is also the home of the frozen fish bowl. A gigantic glass that gives your bicep a workout while drinking your beer. This time you really can come home and mean it when you say, “I have only had a couple of beers”. This restaurant has lost a bit of its charm due to a fire that destroyed most of the place. It’s newer, not so original looking restaurant, still serves up some great food. The atmosphere is casual and the service is good, helpful but not overly friendly. Most of the staff has been here for ages and are able to give you a good recommendation off their extensive menu. The hubby and I both had a couple of the fish bowl beers and I had the classic spaghetti and meatballs. I love this simple dish and this restaurant did it justice. My husband had the Italian sausage and pasta. It was pretty tasty as well. After dinner, we played a few songs on the jukebox and chatted it up with the bartender and a few regulars. Nice people, nice food. Nice choice for a casual restaurant on the hill."
