This deceptively huge record store has some very lo-fi sensibilities. Vintage Vinyl got its humble start almost 30 years ago just a short walk from the building where it now makes its home; its 8,000-square-foot interior houses a renowned selection of CDs and the records from which it gets its name. Clean and well lit, the building still possesses the slightly disheveled air common to small record stores. The stuffed rows of albums may seem intimidating at first, but one of the indier-than-thou Vintage Vinyl employees will come to your rescue and recommend an artist if you can’t decide what to purchase. Vintage Vinyl also showcases rising talent in its popular in-store performances, along with some established rock acts (Queens of the Stone Age have given a memorable free performance here).
