Dillon, MT Summary
Dillon photo

Dillon sits in the heart of Montana’s gold country, 63 miles north of the Idaho border off I-15. Though it began as a terminus for the Utah and Northern Railroad, Dillon’s population of 4,382 now supplies the pocket ranching community of Madison County and Western Montana College. While there are very few regional attractions outside of the parochial Beaverhead County Museum, Dillon offers easy access to a wealth of activities including camping and fishing in the Beaverhead National Forest. Undoubtedly Dillion’s stellar event for the year is the rollicking Labor Day Rodeo, featuring a wild horse race and a Western barbecue.

The Bert Mooney Airport in Butte is the closest to Dillon. Butte is about 40 miles north by I-15.
