Knoebels Amusement Resort

Phun Phood and Phantasy

OK… A little play on words and spelling, but still.. That is the main theme of Knoebels… Fun, food and fantasy! Knoebels is continuously named one of the best parks in the country for food and I tend to agree… You can get almost everything there to eat! The phood is phabulous! Pizza, ice cream, hot dogs, fries, club wraps, salads, funnel cake… You name it, and it is probably there… You can choose from any one of the walk up stands for food and beverage (pepsi products) or you can go to any of the covered eating facilities. They have the Phoenix steakhouse, which serves burgers, dinners and the like, the international food court that has everything from grilled cheese sandwiches and salads to pasta and mexican food, and the Alamo, which is a sit down restaurant.

But enough of the food… The rides are decent… The Twister and the Phoenix are consistantly rated in the top 20 for wooden coasters in the country. They both have something different to offer. Phoenix is a traditional out and back coaster with decent air time. Twister is just that. It is a twisting coaster with lots of turns, twists and drops. Both coasters have a tunnel. Phoenix is at the beginning and Twister’s is at the end before you enter the station. New for next summer will be another wooden coaster called Flying Turns. It is an old style toboggan type coaster. Should be fun!

Other rides at the park include world class bumber cars, a haunted mansion that is among the top if not the best dark ride in the country every year, a Grand Carousel where you can still catch the brass ring and win a free ride, and many other great rides.

Parking and admission have been free forever and the park is pay as you go. There are picnic facilities all over the park where you can either bring your own food and grill or opt to have the park cater a function for your group. You can buy books of ride tickets in 5 and 10 dollar denominations or, on certain days, pay one price and get your hand stamped. The upside to this is that you can go with a family of 4, get 20 bucks worth of tickets and stay until they are gone. you don’t have ot pay 40 or 50 bucks per person to go to the park unless you want to. Go for a few hours, ride a few rides, see a free show at the bandshell and have some food. Then grab an ice cream and head home. Tickets are always good day to day and year to year, so if you go for one day a year and don’t use all the tickets you purchased, you can simply bring back the unused ones the following year and that is less you have to buy!

This is a great family park and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time!

Perfect review with terrific tips.  I second the opinion that this is a great FAMILY park.
