This bar sure does pack a lot into one space — music venue, pool tables, video games and a plethora of twentysomethings. The Elbo Room is definitely a hot spot on Valencia in the Mission. Weekend nights it can get pretty crowded. The upstairs has a small stage and a dance area that gets very crowded. The area downstairs takes you back to the ‘80s with a Pac-Man table game and an old photo booth. The Elbo Room brings in many different types of smaller bands (mostly cover bands), sometimes with an international flare, other times with grooving ‘60s soul. Overall, it maybe tries too hard to be something for everyone. I guess that’s why it’s always so crowded.
