NYC in Vegas?

Reviewed by dgdarien on February 02, 2007

"New York New York is a pretty cool hotel/casino, it features restaurants, bars (one with dueling pianos, fun stuff), and plenty of stuff to see/do. They even have a section where the inside is modeled to look like a city street in Greenwich Village or something similar. But with that said, don’t don’t don’t expect a true New York City experience here. If you love and miss New York and come here, don’t expect too much."

"One of my first Vegas memories is my cabbie getting faux-weepy when discussing the Statue of Liberty in front of New York New York. I think I commented the real one was even more impressive. Anywho, this casino is a ton of fun, as long as you take it with a grain of salt. So much like anything labeled “New York Style,” it’s not nearly as good as the real thing. Their New York “Deli” didn’t offer Pastrami on Rye, or even dark rye. I ended up with cornbeef on white and somewhere in New York someone cried. The roller coaster is awesome. Well worth the wait and the snaking lines."

best roller coaster left in Vegas

Reviewed by ohsostrange on January 15, 2007

"The best part of this resort is its external facade-fantastic to look at, like a 3-D collage of New York landmarks. Can’t say I particularly care for any of their restaurants or ever had luck at their slots, though. I like to walk around it-(there’s a 9-11 exhibit out in front that’s unexpected and touching) and sometimes go upstairs to their arcade and to ride the coaster."

Fun Place

"Location is probably the best part of this hotel. It is right in the heart of the strip in the middle of everything. We upgraded to a suite with a hot tub, 2 queens and a pull out couch. The rooms have bose surround stereo units that place mp3 discs and dvds. You feel like a serious high roller for 3-4 hundred a night in one of these rooms. It’s not the type of hotel that you can spend your whole trip in, but who goes to Vegas to spend it in a hotel anyway? It gets a bit crowded at night but overall the staff is friendly and helpful and it makes you feel alive when you walk in through the strip side overpass entrance at night!"

Great Trip

Reviewed by TashD1005 on December 07, 2006

TashD1005's rating:

"My husband and I went in Oct 2004 and this was a great hotel! The inside looks like the streets of NY City complete with apartment buildings, fire escapes and steaming manholes! We saw Zumanity while we were there and I highly recommend it! Great show! The only thing I would complain about is the location. It is on the strip but if you wanted to go see any of the nightly attractions (Pirates of T.I., Volcano “eruptions”, Fountains at Bellagio) it was quite a walk. We are going back in 2007 and have decided to stay somewhere more in the middle of the strip this time. "

Fun, even if you're not the gambling type

Reviewed by Anonymous on June 26, 2006

Anonymous' rating:

"This Big Apple-themed casino is really fun. It feels more like a big amusement park than a gambling spot (though there’s plenty of opportunity for blackjack, craps, roulette, etc.). There’s tons of food stands and bars, but the best part is definitely the roller coaster. You’ll probably have to wait in line, but this thrill ride is totally worth it."
