Summary of Rain
Rain at the Palms is one space, but two venues. There’s Rain Nightclub, a 28,000-square foot orgy of music, fireballs and dancing water fountains. Then there’s Rain, the rock club where Ozzy, Kid Rock, Jay-Z and Nickelback have graced the stage. The same space is transformed, depending on the event schedule. The privileged (or those who hit it big in the casino) shell out for private cabanas or water booths, while the rest of the patrons shake their moneymakers on the main floor. The music style is relatively mainstream, with hip-hop and techno so loud the bass can practically pump your heart for you. The entrance is a golden tunnel, filled with flashing lights and fog. When you emerge into the club, it looks like a grown-up raver’s dream come true. The bamboo dance floor is edged by water, which through the magic of technology, has been filled with fountains that dance to the music. The sea of beautiful people spread out before you is no illusion, though – keep your eyes peeled for celebs like Paris Hilton and Macy Gray.
