Summary of TPC at the Canyons
Home to the PGA Tour’s Las Vegas Invitational, the Canyons is a chance for the weekend warrior to test his mettle on the same hallowed ground that the pros walk. Designed by Bob Weed and Raymond Floyd, the Canyons is a stunning example of rugged elegance. Located less than 30 minutes from the heart of Las Vegas, the Canyons is a breathtaking escape from the hustle and bustle of Sin City that not only slips into its desert landscape without a fuss, but also cleverly uses that landscape to its advantage. The view from every tee easily holds its own against any show or club in town. And greens fees won’t burn too big a hole through your khakis. The Canyons is a TPC (Tournament Players Club) course, and one of only eight open to the public. As a TPC club, the practice facilities are impressive. They include a lit driving range, practice bunker, and a chipping area. Nearby sister club Summerlin plays host to the Senior PGA Tour’s Las Vegas Seniors Classic, but that doesn’t impugn its difficulty rating at all. As you’d expect from a course in the desert, sand bunkers are everywhere, lying in wait for you like cops in a speed trap.
